Market Timings for Mutual Funds

Mutual fund transactions, such as buying (subscriptions), selling (redemptions), or switching funds, follow specific timings in the MFSS Segment (Mutual Fund Service System). These timings determine when your transaction will be processed and at what price (NAV – Net Asset Value). Depending on the type of fund and transaction, different cut-off times apply.

Options When Investing in Mutual Funds

When you invest, you choose how your returns are handled:

  • Dividend Pay-out (DP): Receive profits as direct payments.
  • Dividend Reinvestment (DR): Reinvest your profits to buy more fund units.
  • Growth (GR): Allow your investment to grow without receiving payouts.

Timings for Mutual Fund Transactions

The cut-off timings for mutual fund transactions are structured as follows:

CategoryDescriptionTiming
HLIQDLiquid transaction available for Historic NAV -Only subscription Allowed9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
All categories other than HLIQDAll subscriptions including DBTCR transactions9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
All CategoriesAll redemptions and switch transactions9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Where,

  • HLIQD (Liquid Funds) are mutual funds that invest in highly liquid assets (like cash or short-term debt). They’re ideal for short-term investments.
  • Historic NAV is the Net Asset Value (price per unit) of the previous business day, applicable to liquid fund purchases placed before the cut-off time.
  • DBTCR Transactions are transactions processed via Direct Bank Transfers (like NEFT/RTGS) for subscriptions to mutual funds.
